Description:

•  Most proposed changes in the revised policy are minor and will not affect how couples may be eligible for treatment.

• Overall the proposed changes will make access to specialist fertility treatment more equitable to people who are registered as patients with one of the Y&H CCGs.

• Access to NHS funded specialist infertility treatment has been broadened to include:

o couples where one or both partners are transgender,

o same sex couples, and

o couples living with a disability that affects their fertility.

• Immigration Health Surcharge - Access to assisted conception relates to couples, therefore where at least one partner is eligible for these services (i.e. ordinarily resident in the UK), the couple will be considered as eligible for services.
